Opened in December of 2015, The Sixth is an award-winning cocktail bar from the cocktail team of the Fifty/50 Restaurant group. We are located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. A hip, modern hangout, we feature creative craft cocktails made with specialty ice served in an upscale yet approachable environment.


The name is derived from the early history of distillation in America. At one time in our nation’s history, whiskey production was so common it was said that 1 in every 6 men were involved, whether distilling it, transporting the grain. or milling it.  We are also proud to be the sixth concept from The Fifty/50 Group, a leader in creating innovative, diverse restaurant and bar concepts.


Launched in 2008 by Scott Weiner and Greg Mohr with the namesake The Fifty/50, the restaurant group with ten original concepts is now one of the most versatile hospitality companies in Chicago.  Both former Lettuce Entertain You veterans, partners Weiner and Mohr brought an original high-end sports bar concept to Wicker Park (The Fifty/50), and have since opened Roots Handmade Pizza, now with multiple locations, West Town Bakery & Diner (with three locations and a fourth slated), Homestead on the Roof, the game-changing cocktail lounge The Berkshire Room, The Sixth – with an award-winning, groundbreaking mixology program – fine dining destination Steadfast, casual imbibing spot Bodega, apré-ski – themed hot tub bar Bunny Slope inside of Rebel Hospitality’s ACME Hotel Company, and the elevated rooftop bar, Apogee, also located at dana hotel hotel and spa.
